Standards, Goals, Objectives

When talking about standards, goals, and objectives I guess that it is best to have an understanding for what each one is. Looking at standards as the most important part of the education puzzle we see what should be focused on as teachers prepare their lessons to improve student learning. The goal is the next step that is both a general and broad statement that tries to accomplish the standard. Finally we get to the objective that is very specific and measurable, the objective can be measured and should be done so in a way that it fits under the specific education requirements of both the goals and standards.
Now that there is a clear understanding of these components and how they interrelate we can see how they should be used in order to improve student learning. The main thing that I took away from this part of the lesson was that the link to the helpful 100 verbs that should be used in writing clear and measurable objectives is very useful when an educator is writing their objectives. These objectives should be written in a way that they can be measured and clearly understood by the grade level that you are instructing.
